ONKAPARINGA COUNCIL REBATES

Onkaparinga City Council’s Sustainability Rebates and Subsidies

The City of Onkaparinga is offering a rebate program to encourage residents to make sustainable choices for their homes. This includes a rebate for switching gas appliances (like hot water heaters) to electric or solar powered options. Residents can apply for 50% of the cost of the new appliance, up to a maximum of $200.

The program also offers rebates for other sustainable upgrades, such as switching to a lighter coloured roof to reduce heat absorption, installing insulation, purchasing a rainwater tank, planting native plants, and installing an electric vehicle charging station. All rebates are capped at a specific amount and are available on a first-come-first-served basis until program funds run out. For more information on the specific rebates available and how to apply, please visit the Onkaparinga City Council website.

What this means for you is, if you have a gas hot water system you could save big on a replacement! Upgrading to a more modern option like a heat pump is easier than ever. Government programs (both state and federal) are already available to help you make the switch, offering financial assistance. And as an Onkaparinga City Council resident, you would likely be eligible for up to three rebates totalling a maximum of $1,973 to help you upgrade to a more efficient heat pump hot water system.
